Back to the favorite things. One of the best things in life, in my opinion is music. Music sets the mood for us, relaxes us and helps us express our feelings. I love music, don’t you?
Here are my favorite music artists:
1. Rob Thomas / Matchbox Twenty
2. Train
3. Maroon 5
4. Pink
5. Sting
6. Dave Matthews Band
7. James Taylor
8. Goo Goo Dolls
9. Jamiroquai
10. Corinne Bailey Rae
And those are just the ten that are currently on my playlist. There are so many more great artists, it would be tough to mention all the ones I love.

4. CSI: Vegas
5. Survivor
6. Amazing Race
7. The Daily Show
8. Law & Order SVU

It’s a good thing that I get paid to write about some of these shows, otherwise I would be a huge loafer!

I think everyone has a Top 10 List of favorite movies. Each reflects the individual tastes of that person. No one’s list is bad or wrong!
So with that in mind, here’s mine:
1. Being John Malcovich
2. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
3. Adaptation
4. Memento
5. When Harry Met Sally
6. Men in Black (not the sequel, unfortunately)
7. The Color of Heaven (Subtitled)
8. Monty Python & the Holy Grail (Nee!)
9. Forrest Gump
10. What the Bleep?
Obviously, I have offbeat tastes. I’m partial to independent films because they don’t just follow the cookie cutter plots of the mainstream films. And one of the things that I find most interesting in a film is when they make us look at the world (or ourselves) in a completely new way.
Hmmmm… I think I need to watch a good flick tonight…

Those of us who are seriously hoping for Barack Obama to being the much-needed change that the US needs are still hopeful, and getting a bit more optimistic than ever. For example, the republican pollster who was a guest on Real Time With Bill Maher this week said that he thinks Barack Obama will be our next president.
And if that’s not enough optimism, yesterday, Gen. Colin Powell went on Face the Nation to say that he will be voting for Obama this election. And he’s a long-time republican! He said the thing I agree with 100%, that McCain’s choice of Palin for VP shows his poor judgement.
I’m feeling a bit more optimistic, but still have my fingers crossed. After all, the election’s not over until it’s over…
